Recognised with international awards at film festivals around the globe, the cinema from the Portuguese-speaking world is still mostly unknown to the general public. The film fest presents multiple works (documentaries, animations, shorts and feature films), in sessions of several films from different countries.

This 240 million people linguistic community is a thriving one, promoting over 80 film festivals and cinema awards every year, with movies mostly consumed in the respective countries.

Since the first edition in Kenya, Nairobi, we created a community sharing our enthusiasm for the Portuguese speaking cinema. Shorts, features, documentaries and animation: there have been many formats for the same passion across the World, in many cities and festivals, with multiple editions.

Chennai
The second Lusophone Film Fest Chennai will be on the 3rd and 4th May 2024 in celebration of the Portuguese Language Day at the Avichi College of Arts and Science from 4pm to 7pm. The session is organised by the Embassies of Portugal, Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde and Mozambique in New Delhi, together with the Camões Institute (Portuguese Embassy Cultural Centre) and the Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation Chennai.
